Here’s another method/opportunity to further automate your job search options – try IFTTT; if you’ve not heard of this application, it stands for If This Then That.
If you click on the IFTTT link it will take you to the site and explain how it works in more detail.
But for the high level overview, this application essentially interacts with other applications and sites that you subscribe to. You simple add a trigger (called a recipe) and when the conditions are met, you get a digital notification.
For example, let’s say you are subscribed to LinkedIn, and you are following several businesses or organizations in search for your next job. IFTTT has a recipe to
Get new job opportunities from the companies you follow on LinkedIn in your inbox Note: Please note, is not currently possible to filter by country.
Once you ‘Add’ the recipe you will receive an email each time a job opportunity is posted to LinkedIn by the targeted business or organization. This can save you loads of time!
The difference in using this app as opposed to other resources such as Google alerts, Talkwalker alerts, Paper.li, etc., is that here you have an opportunity to niche down your search criteria to businesses and organizations you follow on LinkedIn. And of course, one of the biggest benefits is that you set it up and it runs automatically.
