Hello and Welcome to SoldierCop!Soldiercop (980)

I’m Eugene, a retired Army CW3.  Over the years thousands of Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines and Coast Guardsmen have successfully made the transition from military service into civilian careers.  I did it, and so can you! That’s why I created this site –  specifically to help others like you successfully transition careers.

Let’s face it, everybody has a different story or set of circumstances that freed up their future; and it’s the different stories that really makes us the same. You may be a couple of years into your contract, or contemplating separation or retirement, or you may already be actively preparing for your next career; regardless your situation, the fundamentals for a successful transition don’t change and are easy to learn and apply.

A question I get asked a lot is “Why SoldierCop?” So allow me to share my story in brief:  After more than 2 decades of honorable service as a Military Policeman and an Army CID Special Agent  I came to a decision point in my life; 1) continue doing what I do for the Army or,  2) find another honorable vocation? For me the choice to transition into the civilian sector aligned with my life-goal to make a difference.  I credit much of my post-military career success to conducting a simple Personal SWOT Analysis which enabled me recognize, and lean toward my strengths.

Some of my friends and colleagues found the civilian government employee to be their path, while others opted for the private sector, and still others pursued self-employment. Based on my knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA’s), I found teaching in Higher Ed to be a good fit. Teaching allows me to leverage my experience, expertise, and education into a field in high demand for quality [check out Job Searching in the Modern World]. Teaching also provides me with the opportunity to innovate and bring real-world practical application into the academic setting.

There can be no greater impact on the future, than to influence the minds that will shape it. E. Matthews [Tweet this!]
